Senior Business Analyst – Exchange Trading & Financial Markets

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in financial services and exchange trading. In this role, you will contribute to the analysis and delivery of sophisticated trading capabilities, working at the intersection of business requirements, financial markets and technology.

You will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including business representatives, product managers, architects, developers and testing specialists, translating complex market and business needs into precise, implementation-ready specifications.

Contract: Personal Lease / Contractor

Contract Duration: 12 months

Location: Zürich, Switzerland

Work Model: Hybrid – 50% remote

Responsibilities:

• Analyse and structure complex business requirements within financial markets, exchange trading and market infrastructure

• Translate business and operational needs into detailed functional and technical specifications

• Analyse the functionality of trading platforms and matching engines, including order processing, execution flows and trading lifecycle processes

• Define and document requirements related to different market models and exchange-traded financial instruments

• Prepare comprehensive business requirements, functional specifications and interface specifications

• Evaluate the impact of new requirements and changes across interconnected systems, processes and interfaces

• Work closely with product management, business stakeholders, solution architects, developers and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle

• Support backlog refinement, feature definition, implementation planning and delivery within an Agile environment

• Ensure requirements are sufficiently detailed, consistent and actionable for development and testing

• Contribute to the analysis of topics related to trading, market data, reference data and regulatory requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in financial services, ideally with a significant focus on requirements engineering or business analysis

• 4–6 years of experience with exchange-traded financial products, with strong expertise in:

• Fixed Income

• Structured Products

• Experience with Equities and ETFs is an advantage

• Excellent understanding of trading platforms and matching engines

• Strong knowledge of order handling and order management, trade execution workflows, market models, trading lifecycle processes

• Proven ability to analyse and specify complex trading functionality across multiple systems

• Experience assessing business, operational and technical dependencies and impacts

• Strong track record in creating business requirements, functional specifications, interface specifications and implementation-ready documentation

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a high level of attention to detail

• Understanding of market data, reference data and relevant regulatory considerations

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

• Fluent written and spoken English
