Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Application Manager D365 SCM to strengthen its Business Applications team.

In this role, you will take ownership of the support, optimization and further development of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 F&SCM), with a particular focus on manufacturing and logistics processes within a mechanical engineering environment.

A key part of the position will also be the management of SCM-related projects, including the planned introduction of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) within D365 F&SCM. You will work closely with Production, Supply Chain and Logistics, as well as internal IT teams and external implementation partners.

Your Responsibilities

D365 F&SCM – Manufacturing & Logistics

  • Take responsibility for the functional support and further development of the Production, Warehouse and Logistics modules in D365 F&SCM

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into processes, concepts and solution designs

  • Ensure stable operation and continuously optimize manufacturing and logistics processes

  • Support international rollouts, upgrades and system enhancements

Project Management – SCM

  • Lead D365 F&SCM projects, including the implementation of WMS solutions

  • Plan and manage project scope, timelines, budgets and resources

  • Coordinate internal departments and external implementation and support partners

  • Ensure quality standards and timely project delivery

  • Report project progress, risks and key decisions to management and relevant stakeholders

WMS Implementation

  • Lead the conception, implementation and introduction of a WMS within D365 F&SCM

  • Define and optimize warehouse processes, including goods receipt, put-away, picking, goods issue and inventory management

  • Coordinate WMS integration with upstream and downstream systems, including production, shipping and legacy systems

  • Manage testing, data migration and go-live activities

  • Support and train users across warehouse, production and logistics

Process Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze, document and optimize manufacturing and logistics processes

  • Identify opportunities for digitalization and automation across production and warehousing

  • Work closely with the Production, Supply Chain and Logistics departments to drive continuous improvement

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Coordinate and manage external implementation and support partners

  • Collaborate closely with the Business Applications and IT teams

  • Contribute to interdisciplinary projects in a national and international environment

Your Profile

  • Degree in Business Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration with an IT focus, or a comparable qualification

  • Several years of experience as an Application Manager, Consultant or Key User within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM

  • Proven experience leading IT or application projects, ideally within an ERP or SCM environment

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and logistics processes, ideally within mechanical or plant engineering

  • Experience implementing and/or operating Warehouse Management Systems, ideally within a D365 environment

  • Strong knowledge of requirements analysis, process design and ERP testing

  • Experience managing external implementation and support partners is an advantage

  • Strong project management skills with experience managing budgets, timelines and resources

  • Structured, solution-oriented working style combined with strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Very good German and English skills
